William Gibson (1948-) is an author. He is one of the earliest and most influential Cyberpunk authors, largely remembered for his novel Neuromancer.
Life[]
Born in the coastal city of Conway, South Carolina in March of 1948, Gibson was born to the manager of a large construction company. This led to the young Gibson spending most of his childhood in Wytheville in Virginia - where his parents grew up. Gibson attended the Pines Elementary School in nearby Norfolk, though his teachers lacked encouragement in his reading ability and his father choked to death while William was still at the school.
