The Vivisectors are a race of insectoids found within the Junkesian Galaxy. Allies of the Beghorans and the Xuur, the Vivisectors are a secretive race - only sending Vivisector troops to their allies whenever their interests are in jeopardy. Vivisector culture and society is based around surgical experimentation. This experimentation is largely done on unwilling subjects - with ethics being completely ignored and anesthesia almost never being used. Most of these experiments are only done for the enjoyment of the Vivisectors. The Vivisectors consider themselves to be the pinnacle of medial efficinecy.

The Vivisector species is divided into several different biological classes. These classes are linked by a mutagenic chemical (Vivisectorius Mutardius) which each class is able to use. This venom causes rapid and extreme mutation. These mutations are usually fatal. Most that survive are made into mindless beasts. Those lucky few that manage to survive are made into extremely powerful mutants.

Vivisector Classes[]

  • Larva: The infant form of the Vivisector, the Larvae is essentially nothing more than a large grub. The Larva brain has only goal in life - its own survival.
  • Drone: The most common class of Vivisector, most Larva grow into Drones. The Drones are roughly humanoid. The Drones are completely asexual.
  • Juggernaut: Massive hulking behemoths, the Juggernauts are the least sapient class of Vivisector - with their only goal in life being to maul any non-Vivisector life they see. They are formed when Vivisector Larvae are exposed to Vivisectorius Mutardius. Juggernauts are usually euthanized, however, they are occasionally used in battle - with the Beghorans having an army of Juggernauts on standby on the planet Azet'Begh.
  • Breeder: The only non-asexual class of Vivisectors, the Breeders are massive serpentine beings. The Breeders are about as sapient as the Juggernauts - with their only goal in life being to form more Larvae. The Breeders are formed by an extremely rare random mutation.

Notable Vivisectors[]

  • The Imperator: The nigh-immortal ruler of the Vivisectors, the Imperator is an extremely large being with a massive brain. This brain holds every medical procedure and medical discovery that the Vivisectors have discovered. The Imperator is also an extremely powerful psychic. The Imperator is completely immobile - using a Speaker (a Drone or (in recent times) a Beghoran mech psychically controlled by the Imperator) to deal with matters of government. If mortally wounded, the Imperator is able to molt from its current body and form a new one.
