Neil Penswick is an author. He is largely remembered for his Doctor Who novel The Pit.
Life[]
Born in the 1960s, Penswick worked as a social worker before (and during) his early writing career. In 1988, Penswick submitted a Doctor Who script called Hostage to Andrew Cartmel. While Doctor Who was cancelled before Hostage could be made, Penswick made a large portion of his script into his novel The Pit. While working on The Pit, Penswick lived in Bedford. After The Pit was published, Penswick returned to his work as a social worker for several decades before returning to writing with his Tales of the Shadowmen short story The Vampire Murders. He has contributed to several volumes of the Shadowmen series and the Doctor Omega collection Doctor Omega and the Shadowmen. He also submitted a short film to the "50 Kisses" competition called Parental Love.
