Downtime is a novel written by Marc Platt. Released in 1996, it is the eightheenth novel within Virgin's Doctor Who Missing Adventures series and a novelization of Platt's film of the same name. Downtime tells of the return of the Great Intelligence.

- Across the room, in a high-backed leather chair, Victoria saw the old man from the reading room. His face was curiously young for someone so long dead.
