David Bishop (or D.V. Bishop) is an author. Bishop is best known for his work for 2000 A.D. and Doctor Who.
Life[]
Born in New Zealand (specifically in Cambridge), Bishop grew up in the Australian city of Auckland. He studied journalism at the Auckland University of Technology (then known as the Auckland Technical Institute) and began working for the New Zealand Herald. In 1990, Bishop moved to the United Kingdom. Bishop was briefly the sub-editor of the Judge Dredd Megazine and Crisis before being promoted to editor of the Megazine. In 1995, Bishop became editor of the 2000 A.D. Magazine. This was closely followed by Bishop publishing his first Doctor Who novel - Who Killed Kennedy.
During his stint as editor, Bishop helped foster several creatives who went on to become major figures within 2000 A.D. This includes Andy Diggle, Robbie Morrison, Simon Fraser, Siku, and (possibly) Dave Stone. (Ironically), Bishop resigned from his post in 2000 and became a freelance writer - publishing several Doctor Who novels after this.

Writing style[]
Bishop's work can best be described as grimdark. Extremely disturbing and brutal scenes (such as the crowd-crush scene from Amorality Tale) and a general depressing atmosphere abound.
