Compassion V (usually referred to as just Compassion) is a major character in the Eighth Doctor Adventures and a recurring character in the Faction Paradox series.

Character[]

Appearance[]

Compassion is described as a tall redhead, though once she was morphed into a TARDIS she gained the ability to shapeshift.

Character[]

As a former Remote commander, Compassion has a rather stuck-up and smug side. She is rather more knowledgable of the larger universe than most of the Doctor's companions.

Abilities[]

Once she is made into a TARDIS Compassion gains the ability to shapeshift, travel through space and time, and change her own internal dimensions.

History[]

As a Remote[]

The fifth and final in a series of Remotes created from the memories of Laura Tobin, Compassion V was created on the planet Anathema. Alongside Kode, she was a part of the Remote platoon that met the Eighth Doctor on Earth. Due to influence from the media signals on Earth, Compassion became one of the Doctor's companions[1].

Travels with the Eighth Doctor[]

Alongside Fitz Kreiner and the Doctor, Compassion visited the Second Wallachian Expedition and, after the Doctor discovered about the "existence" of the Elder Things - travelled alongside him to prehistoric Antarctica to a base taken over by Time Lords. Though the Doctor was able to pass off Fitz and Compassion as temporal canaries to Xenaria, his ruse was found out as the trio left for the TARDIS. Xenaria activated the base's defenses, which made the trio split up. Though Compassion was cornered by two Time Lords she was able to use the base's defenses against them and fled deeper into the base - seeing Fitz's interrogation by Investigator Two before she was found by Holsred.

Instead of killing Compassion, Holsred accompanied her to the TARDIS Cradles after convincing him that the "Allopta" that had interrogated both the Doctor and Fitz was a fraud. While at the Cradles, Compassion fell into them and led the TARDISes within the Cradles into a revolt against their masters. Compassion escaped death by being swallowed by one of the TARDISes and was shot out several million years in the future in a comatose state.

Compassion soon recovered from her coma and, alongside "Nathaniel Hume", hunted down Investigator Two and briefly tried to help Hume vanquish the Celestis Investigator. After Fitz arrived and (with Hume's help) converted Two into a work of fiction, Compassion accompanied him in the TARDIS to rescue the Doctor from the Asteroid Belt.[2]
