Asha Grant is a major protagonist in the book Obsidio. She is Kady Grant's cousin who survived the attack on Kerenza IV.
Character[]
Personality[]
Although it is shown that Asha Grant's background was quite different and unhealthy, she is depicted as being calm and collected. Like many of her fellow Illuminae members, Asha lacks any unique abilities or skills, but she does have a lot of bravery and compassion, as seen by her love for Katya Kowalski. Her role in teaching Rhys Lindstrom how to cheat at cards should also be mentioned. She asserts to be an adept at lying or conniving, which is how she and Rhys managed to enter forbidden regions without being caught.
Appearance[]
Asha Grant has a tattoo that reads Rhys and Asha that has been partially covered up but serves as a reminder of their time together. She has green eyes and black complexion. In honor of her late sister, she also gets the word Samaira tattooed on her wrist. She is characterized as having green eyes, black hair, and light brown complexion.
History[]
Only in Obsidio does Asha appear. On Kerenza IV, she plays a member of the resistance. She works as an intern at a pharmacy while she is employed by BeiTech. Her ex (Rhys) arrives as a BeiTech "Specialist" while she is there. In order to alert anybody who might be listening, Asha and the other members of the Kerenzan resistance successfully convince Linstrom to join them. Fortunately for them, the communication reaches the oncoming Mao. She and Rhys appear to be back together at the book's conclusion, while Katya—who was shot during the battle between BeiTech and the Resistance—has fully healed and is being brought before the judge for the court hearing.
