Abdul Jamal is one of the main antagonists of Richard Sherbaniuk's novel The Fifth Horseman.
Character[]
An extreme sociopath, Abdul does not have any trace of morality - outright stating this to Michael Zammit - and frequently commits extremely horrible actions without any guilt. He is somewhat well-read and considers himself to be a disciple of Machiavelli's The Prince. It is said that Jamal frequently funds Islamic groups, though this is more out of convenience than due to any religious leanings - as he works with Smegyev's cult of Christian zealots. Though his sociopathic tendencies make him largely fearless, they also make him extremely impatient and easily angered.
History[]
Born to a rich Omani family, Abdul showed his sociopathic tendencies early in life. Abdul studied in Paris and lived in France for several years before being exiled from the country due to his criminal habits. Due to his numerous crimes, Abdul was forced to live as a fugitive from justice in various dictatorships.
During this time, Abdul Jamal gained knowledge of the International Environmental Response Team - having Deputy Director Frankie Richards' lover Adam kidnapped when he discovered one of Abdul's shady business dealings and having an illegal sweatshop in Pakistan shut down by the organization. Unbeknownst to INERT, Abdul was producing various neurochemicals in the facility and testing them on the downtrodden in the area.
