Personally, I make rough sketches with pencil and then don't have the energy or talent to add many details. My drawings usually end up with a lot of excess rough lines in the background, but I like the messiness. I also have an inexplicable hate for circles, so when I have to draw something curved, it's just a lot of straight lines joining together to make it somewhat work. Sometimes, when I'm feeling bold, I try to add certain geometrical shapes to my drawings, but, most of the time, they stay pretty simple.
